How to care for your very own TCK
WHO AM I
Hello.
My name is Danielle.
I grew up in New Mexico, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea.
Well, I grew up some in Colorado, too, because I'm not really finished growing up. I think I shan't ever be finished.
I have one very handsome husband and two tiny humans who I am rather fond of. We live in the mountains, eat lots of curry, wear bright colours, and laugh frequently.
I have a degree in psychology and am a certified Life Coach, studying specifically to coach transitional times such as re-entry and entering cross-cultural ministry or living.
Third Culture Kids, also known as "Global Nomads," "Bi-Cultural Kids," "Trans-Cultural Kids," etc. are a unique group of humans. While not necessarily having more "baggage" than your average human, we often have baggage that is different, hidden, or unexpected. This can be very confusing to those in our lives who are trying to care for us, love us, and otherwise walk beside us on the journey of Life.
I hope to be a resource for both those TCKs, and those who desire to love them well: friends, spouses, children, parents. The thoughts on this site are not (unelss otherwise noted) scientific studies or substantiated fact, but rather my observations and those of others with similar experiences.
